Frequently Asked Questions

Our Calgary personal support care covers a wide range of daily living needs, including bathing and grooming, dressing, mobility support, incontinence care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping. We tailor these services to your loved one’s lifestyle so they can maintain comfort and independence at home.

Yes. We understand that care needs are rarely static. Whether your loved one’s health improves or requires more attention over time, our care plans are flexible and adaptable. We review services regularly with families to ensure the level of support is always appropriate.

Our caregivers are trained to deliver support with respect and discretion. This includes explaining each step before providing assistance, using privacy screens or closed doors when appropriate, and encouraging independence wherever possible. Our goal is to make personal care feel comfortable, not clinical.

Yes. Our caregivers undergo rigorous training in senior care, mobility assistance, and safe handling techniques. They also receive ongoing education in areas such as dementia care, fall prevention, and respectful communication. All team members complete police background checks and vulnerable sector screenings before joining Assurance.

We consider more than just care requirements; we look at personality, communication style, and even shared interests. For example, if your loved one enjoys gardening, we’ll aim to match them with a caregiver who shares that interest. This helps create a natural rapport and builds trust more quickly.

We have a reliable backup system in place. If a caregiver is unwell or unavailable, we arrange for a replacement who has been briefed on your loved one’s needs and routines. We also strive to keep substitute caregivers consistent whenever possible to avoid unnecessary disruption.

Not at all. While many of our clients are older adults, personal support care can also benefit individuals recovering from surgery, living with a disability, or managing a chronic condition, regardless of age.

Yes. Even in settings where some assistance is already provided, our caregivers can supplement that care with one-on-one attention tailored to your loved one’s preferences. This can include extra mobility support, more frequent personal care, or simply companionship.

We provide personal support care across Calgary, including communities such as Brentwood, Auburn Bay, West Springs, and Sunnyside. If you’re located just outside city limits, contact us and we’ll let you know if we can help or suggest alternatives.

We offer flexible scheduling, from occasional help a few times a week to multiple visits each day. Some families begin with short visits and gradually increase the frequency as needs change.

Our approach is highly responsive and collaborative. We combine professional expertise with genuine warmth, prioritize caregiver-client compatibility, and back our services with our “Make it Right Guarantee”. Families know they can rely on us to adapt, communicate, and deliver care that truly feels personal.

This agency has got to be the very best I have ever worked for! The compassion, care and empathy this agency shows not only the clients and families but the employed staff as well is superior and exemplary. I was proud to have worked as a nurse for them and I certainly hope our paths cross again.

My 99 year old Mom has been so blessed to be cared for by the loving, kind and caring staff from Assurance home care these past two years. I cannot say enough about how professional, and trustworthy these staff are.
I live a fair distance away and can only come on weekends so it is a huge reassurance to know that these staff are always looking out for my Mom’s best interest. They stay in constant touch with me and accommodate any special requests my Mom needs. She lives in a retirement home where the staff cannot give her the kind of attention she needs. Assurance staff have made it possible for my Mom to “age in place” and not have to go through a traumatic move in her late 90’s. They treat my Mom like their own mother! The owner of Assurance - Kristina has been super supportive, a wealth of information and always available to talk.
This is by far a 10/10 amazing company!!!!

Can’t say enough about the caring and support we’ve had from Assurance provided to my mom over the years. Was a comfort to know she was so well looked after when I couldn’t be there. All her care providers were professional and so compassionate. The coordination team in the office were always helpful and ready with solutions when anything came up or u called in. Communication was outstanding and I always felt well informed. Mom’s dementia has progressed and she will be moving to a care home. We are going to miss everyone very much.

Glaiza was the caregiver who came to stay with my husband, Bill, for 5 nights while I was away. Bill was VERY HAPPY with the care she provided. He was kept clean and fed, and all of his other needs were met as well. Also, when we arrived home the apartment was clean and tidy. We are so thankful that Assurance Home Care was recommended to us, and will continue to use this company, when needed, in the future. An added bonus is that their rates are VERY reasonable.

I was absolutely delighted with the assessment that Kelly did prior to hiring a PSW. She's a very caring and understanding person and had a special touch with my Mother who was very upset. She also was very attentive in finding a good fit for my her. The PSW's provided the extra support and assurance to my Mother that she was safe and everything would be ok and tended to her needs. I would recommend Assurance Home Care to anyone who needs extra support for their loved one.
